Over your credit limit? Missing monthly payments? If you’re worried about money, whatever the reason, credit counselling services can help. The only not-for-profit of its kind in the region, offers no fee services.
When expenses and monthly debts become more than you can handle, you should know that help is readily available.
Credit Counselling Services Include:

education and information on money management
a consumer repayment plan
information on how to make your own repayment proposal to your creditors
intervention and mediation to help you resolve debt concerns
referrals to other agencies and services as needed

We offer a weekly credit clinic that is a group information session. If you want an individual appointment with a credit counsellor within 1 – 2 weeks, this is the fastest way to receive an appointment.
We also offer telephone counselling. In addition, individual sessions are regularly available in our Cambridge office.
You can contact us by email, however, while your email goes directly to a credit counsellor, we cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality. Please do not include any banking information or credit card information in your email.

Credit Counselling is a four step process that includes:
- a detailed financial assessment
- identification of the issue(s)
- discussion of all options
- selection of a plan of action
Credit Counselling offers a weekly credit clinic that is a group information session. If you want an individual appointment with a credit counsellor within 1 – 2 weeks, this is the fastest way to receive an appointment. This clinic, called the “MoneyLife Workshop” runs on Wednesday evenings from 6 – 7 p.m. It is free of charge. The workshop provides an introduction to services provided by the Credit Counselling program at Mosaic – including budgeting, mediation with creditors and debt management program. Resource material is available.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I have to cancel an appointment?
To cancel an appointment, please call 519-743-6333 and speak with the receptionist. The receptionist can also reschedule a new appointment for you. To avoid paying a session fee for a cancelled appointment, please provide 24 hours prior notice.
What do I need to bring with me to my first appointment?
This may depend on your individual circumstances and reasons for calling. This will be discussed with your intake worker when you call.
Where do I park?
Free parking is available at Mosaic’s Queen Street lot. During peak times, however, if parking is unavailable at the main lot, Mosaic has an alternate lot on Mitchell Street across from the Centre.
Is what I say in counselling kept in confidence?
Any information you share with your counsellor will be kept in confidence. Release of any information outside the Centre requires signed consent of all parties receiving service. We are, however, obliged by law to reveal our knowledge of child abuse or neglect or dangerous acts to yourself or others. We are also required to release records when subpoenaed through a court order.
If you come for counselling with another person, ie. your spouse, we approach confidentiality from the persepctive of the couple or family. Please make know to us any special confidentiality concerns you have at the start of your counselling.
