Who We Are

Located in the heart of the City of Kitchener, Mosaic Counselling and Family Services is a full-service, professional counselling agency. For 60 years, Mosaic has provided individual counselling, couples and marriage counselling, group programs, credit counselling and community outreach to children, men, women, seniors, families and new Canadians.

Mosaic also has offices in Cambridge and provides programs at various locations throughout the Region of Waterloo.
In addition, Mosaic provides programs for workplace wellness and is the home of:
Mosaic Counselling and Family Services is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of voluntary community members.
Mosaic is a member agency of the United Way of Kitchener-Waterloo and Area, and is an accredited member of Family Service Ontario and the Canadian Association of Credit Counselling Services.
Where We Began
In 1952, Father Thomas Brennan, who was both a Catholic priest and a professional social worker, opened the Catholic Welfare Bureau in downtown Kitchener with the support of the Bishop of the Diocese of Hamilton. What a wonderful gift the Catholic Church gave to our communities in the Region of Waterloo. From the outset, the Catholic Welfare Bureau, in an all-embracing manner, provided warmth and support to those in need. Over the past 60 years, our agency has been known variously as the Catholic Welfare Bureau, Catholic Social Services, and, Catholic Family Counselling Centre. In 2009, we changed our name to Mosaic Counselling and Family Services - a name that welcomes all individuals who are part of this Region's rich and growing cultural mosaic and who seek a variety of help and assistance. Mosaic is a name that truly encapsulates the broad range of services we provide and the beautiful spectrum of people we serve. We have grown from an agency serving 250 persons with a budget of $2,500 to an agency that helps more than 25,000 person a year within a budget of $5,000,000.
